I don't call this a problem, really, just wondering if we're the only ones! DD used to take her naps in her swing, but when she turned 4 months she abruptly refused to do that anymore. I chalked it up to the 4 month wakeful and was just grateful she'd nap in the Ergo.
I really don't mind the situation, I guess I just need some reassurance that it's no big deal not to have her nap in her crib! At night she sleeps in the swing or we bedshare.
Re: Only naps in Ergo...anyone else?
My LO would only sleep while being worn or, after she stopped screaming in the carseat, in the car for a long time. She would eventually nap if I rocked her, and now I can rock her and put her in bed. If she's not on a nap strike.
We co-slept at night, and still do. She nursed to sleep at night up until a few months ago, and now she goes to bed with a story from DH.
You are not alone!
Honestly, I don't see a problem with it. You're always going to get the people who say that you're spoiling your baby or that they'll never sleep alone, but they will. Some kids just take longer than others (like my 3 1/2yo lol). I love to babywear almost constantly the first 4mo, so that means exclusively napping in the carrier, unless we're driving in the car or daddy is getting cuddle time. After that, I start nursing and laying down a 100% baby. It's what works best for us.
Totally normal to me.
My DS napped in the Ergo until 8 or 9 months. Then he became a stroller napper and pretty much kept to that until we cut naps at about 2.5 yrs.
Of course, we bed shared as well and most people would hear that and the napping in stroller/carrier and think, that kid's never going to sleep on his own!
But he did and he does. He sleeps on his own in a twin bed most nights from 7pm to 7am. He goes to sleep with a night time story and a kiss. He's happy and well adjusted.
Lucky for us he still likes sleeping with us so we get some morning snuggles on occasion.
