Anyone else hear this from your doctor??

I had my 2 week check up after a C-section. It is still sore and feels odd, but is healing well, according to my OB. He then told me that I shouldn't be tanning my belly yet until the stitches have fully healed...

My belly is darker than some other areas of my skin, but I thought that was because it had been stretched out and is now not so stretched out. I don't think my OB believed me when I told him that I don't purposely tan and I haven't tanned since the C-section and didn't tan on purpose while pregnant since he did try to prove to me that it was a tan.  

So, has anyone else hear this from their doctor?

My stomach is darker right now, too. I haven't been to my postpartum checkup yet, but I also definitely haven't been tanning.

I had skin cancer removed years ago and my derm told me to be careful exposing my stomach scar to the sun, I had an intestenal resection years ago, because scars are more susceptible to developing skin cancer.
