We had some work done in the attic this morning. They must have scared the little guy out of the awning. At least, that's what i'm telling myself. I don't want to think that he was actually in the attic. He's stuck to a second floor screen on the side of the house. I'm not messing with him. He can fly away when he's good and ready.

Re: There is a bat stuck to my window

Better yet, hopefully he finds a new home- far from me.
I love bats not that I would want one in my house. I was thinking this past weekend about asking DH if we could put a bat house in our back yard.
Holy cow I could never. Maybe this is an irrational fear...I've never actually seen a bat.
Really? Not even at a zoo? I always stick my arms in to try to touch the giant fruit bats whenever I am at Disney's Animal Kingdom. I like to sit outside at night and watch them fly around.
There are a couple misconceptions about bats. They do not intentionally go for people's hair. Their echolocation cannot pick it up and that's why they usually get caught in it and people think the bat is attacking them when the bat is actually stuck and trying to get out of it.
And the number of bats that actually have rabies worldwide is ridiculously low. We are taught they most bats have it when very few actually do.
If he's out during the day, he may be ill, particularly if he has a white nose and is acting disoriented. There's a horrible illness called white nose syndrome affecting brown bats in North America, and it may drive them to regional extinction.
