My LO will be 11 months in a few days and I'm wondering about the amount of solids to give him. I've been weaning him off the boob during the day for the past few days. He's been doing pretty good, but I'm not sure how much he should be eating/drinking. We give him milk/goat's milk and then a lot of fruits and veggies. Tonight before bed I fed him and he ended up eating 2 small eggs and a few hours before that he drank like 7 oz of a fruit smoothie we made him. For breakfast I make up some eggs that I share with him and he also gets some strawberries and blueberries or bananas. For little snacks we give him raisins or peas. I want to make sure he is getting enough but don't want to make hime overstuffed. Can you tell I'm a FTM
Re: 11 month solids
Our LO is almost a year old and this is her typical feeding schedule with examples of what we feed her:
-8am 7oz. bottle of formula
-9am breakfast. 1/2 of YoBaby yogurt, fruit, oatmeal
-12:30pm lunch. Give her a sippy cup with whole milk. Cheesy noodles, deli turkey, other half of yogurt, veggie puree, fruit
-5:30pm dinner: Pretty similar to what we give her for lunch, just varying the food so it's not the same exact meal.
-7:30pm 7oz bottle of formula
We are pretty clueless but just try to give our LO a serving of meat, veggie, fruit and dairy. We use one of those kid plates with all the different sections and put a little bit of each thing on the plate. Having a variety has helped because she seems to like something one day and hate it the next. Like the PP said, your LO should let you know when they have had enough or want more. Our DD will throw the food or give it to the dog when she's done and reach for the plate when she wants more.
(I know you didn't ask but be careful with rasins! It didn't occur to me until someone else told me that they could actually be a choking hazard...)
I usually give him a bit of whatever I'm having! Today that was grilled chicken and edamame (I cut his up VERY small)...

Dear God, Since I couldn't hold my little one in my lap and tell him about you, could you hold him in your lap and tell him about me?
PgAL and PAL always welcome...I feed LO until she is full for three meals a day. Like the pp, I figure "full" is when LO doesn't pick up the food, or has really slowed down, or it gets tossed on the floor. LO gets one snack (cheese and graham cracker) at the babysitter's. Most the time LO seems to eat just right, but sometimes she eats a lot (too much!) and other times she eats nothing (waste!) --- but I try to remain calm and trust the little body.
