Initial washing

Ok, on the directions it says to wash the diapers 3 times before using for the first time...do I really need to do that?  Or will one time be enough?  I have bumgenius 4.0.

Yes, you will need to follow the prep instructions.  Although they're usable, prepping them makes them more absorbant.  The more they're used (and washed afterwards), the softer and more absorbant they become.

BG4.0 I just washed once. My "Sassy" colored one I did soak in warm water to prevent it from bleeding.

Synthetic fabrics only need to be washed once prior, natural fabrics do need to be washed multiple times to increase absorbancy and get rid of any oils.
