And now I'm freaking out...

I thought I made it pretty clear that I wanted to cycle in July, but apparently not...

The nurse I spoke to on Friday tells us that there are more tests and records needed and that I don't even have a protocol yet. She tells us to come in for infectious disease blood tests ASAP, and that the IVF nurses will speak with the doctor and get my prescriptions and protocol in order. WTH?

DH and I rush all the way to NJ today for the tests and when the nurse calls back she says that the results could take 7-10 days and that we still do not have a protocol and calendar drawn up. They all seem surprised that I am cycling this month and that nothing is taken care of. I'm most likely calling tomorrow CD1 based on the flow today, so I am seriously wondering if we are too late.

How did this get so f-ed up?? Am I really going to have to wait until August to cycle? And if I do have to wait until August and it doesn't work, I only get TWO personal days per school year. How the hell am I going to try again after August?! I'm really starting to panic... Seriously, ladies, am I totally screwed? Is it too late? WWIFVD?

I went to the same clinic as you for my last IVF.  Depending on the nurse you speak with, you can get very different responses.   I would continue to push for this month.  They tried to pull the same BS with me.  I needed some cultures that I was not required other places to get and it was just a couple of days before retrievel until I got them done locally.  Results came in just time and honestly after the big to do about it, I swear if the results hadn't a made it back in time, nobody would have noticed.  They also pushed for ASA for MH but then I questioned why when we were doing ICSI anyway and then they back down.  You really need to be a pushy b-iotch at that office if you want anything to happen in a timely manner.

They r F'd up about some of these tests. This past cycle I got a call on CD3 asking where the report for my hysteroscopy was. I had polyps removed locally. No one told me they needed the report. I tried to order it and no one at Cooper mentioned it again. I cycled without them getting it! Then I got orders in the mail on Friday saying my infectious disease b/w was expired. I had already triggered!! I was leaving the next day to drive down for my ER! I wound try to keep on track but do the stupid b/w anyway. It makes no sense!

I"m assuming they'll put you on bcp's.  I agree with PP, push and make sure you start on meds right away.

Keep going. They'll get results in plenty of time. And, like others said, it seems half the time they don't even notice whether they got the results or not, once you've started..

Hugs.  I hate it when stuff doesn't work out as planned.  Keep pushing them and make it happen so you can cycle asap.  Best of luck!!

Thanks for your reassurance. I have no intention of letting a July cycle go... at least not without a fight! I think I will just show up at my former RE and see if it speeds things up to just ask for the records in person, then go over to Cooper for baseline and really push things over there.

Since Dr. C was talking about a min-stim IVF and mentioned some meds in his consult, I am really hoping that they are readily available at the fert pharmacy right across the street from Cooper since they were pretty common meds.

Ughhh.  That sucks! Clinics can be so frustrating sometimes.  I'm sorry.  That's the last thing you need.  Just keep pushing.  Be your own advocate.  I think you can still do this as you planned.  Let us know how you're doing.  Good luck!
