Ants in formula, ick! Question...

The ant invasion has apparently begun this summer (so gross!) and we are struggling to get it under control before they manage to get everywhere. This morning I noticed a crushed ant on the inside lip of the formula container. This stuff is waaay to expensive to end up thrown out after being ant food! Suggestions? Is it okay to put the powdered formula in the fridge (I mean the powder itself, before mixing)?

Any other tips for dealing with these pesky things?

Re: Ants in formula, ick! Question...

  • I would call the manufacturer and ask them about it.

Also, these ant baits work awesome.   It is gross for a couple of days while it is killing them off, but after that you're good!

  • I have no clue if it can be refrigerated but you could put the formula container inside a larger tupperware container to keep it safe from the ants until you find out.

  • Our can of formula says to store at room temp, so I wouldn't put it in the fridge. Putting the can in an airtight tupperware seems like the best solution.

  • I'd never eat something I saw with an ant in it, I wouldn't give that to my baby Ick!
