So I have posted on the TN for quite some time and quit after I had DD in December. We found out on memorial day that we ware expecting another one again early Feb. 2013. All of the sudden I remembered how much help I found on the boards when I was pregnant so I went on again and found 2u2. I have been lurking for awhile and have seen how supportive and non-judgmental you can be when it comes to the world of 2u2. I decided that I really needed to come out of lurkdome and say hi to everyone and also to ask a couple of questions.
My main question is for those that have 3u2. At my first ultrasound we actually learned that we will be having twins this time.(OMG) For those of you that have 3u2 did you notice anything different with this pregnancy and symptoms? I'm having a hard time telling what is different because of the twins and what is just due to being pregnant again so soon.
Also did you find anything that was helpful with #1 and trying to keep up with them while first tri was in full swing? The tiredness and MS is kicking my butt.
Thanks for all the help and hopefully I'll find time to post and not lurk quite so much.
PS To anyone from my regular board I haven't posted there yet because I haven't been sure how it will be received. TIA for not letting it out for me
Re: So glad I found this board....
Oh wow, twins! I have had 3 ultrasounds now and am STILL afraid they're going to tell me there are two in there. I mean, what a blessing, but I think I would cry. I don't have any advice regarding that but to make sure you have a good support system.
Second, you've probably noticed that this board is pretty slow so don't worry if you don't get many replies very quickly. Maybe women on the multiples board would also have some advice for you.
Third, are you breastfeeding? I found that that really caused me to be extra fatigued in 1st tri and once I got DD weaned down to fewer feeds, my energy improved dramatically. Otherwise, even if you aren't BFing, drink lots of water and eat when you feel hungry - listen to your body. Rest when you feel tired and catch up on housework later. It was really hard for me at first with growing only one baby, honestly, but it has gotten better. I'm sure with twins it will require you taking even better care of yourself. GL!
Congrats on your news! My 2 are 15 months apart and it's been so amazing. No experience with twins... but I did have different symptoms with #2. I had major, major morning sickness and it kicked my butt too. But hopefully your little one isn't mobile yet, so find time to sit back and relax.
I am so glad to hear your comment about the two being ok! Finding out about both of them was a shock but now all I want is for both of them to be ok. At my second appt. I almost couldnt breathe until I saw both heartbeats.
Thanks for the advice about the multiples board. I posted over there as well to see if anyone has some good advice for me.
I will keep in mind what you said about rest. I'm sure if I don't get to the housework now it will still be there the next day lol.
I have an appt. again 7/11 so I will have to post to let you know how it goes.
I will have 2U2 in Sept but I just wanted to say congrats and God bless you! You are in for a challenge but you will get through it like a champ. Make sure you are not shy about asking for help when you need it.
My SIL had twins her second time around so she had 3U3 and she ends up getting a babysitter to come once in a while to watch the kids while she is there just to get some errands done and whatnot so you might want to start looking for one with experience when you have time.
Good luck with your pregnancy and delivery!!
