Babies: 9 - 12 Months

Time flying by

Is anyone else experiencing anxiety as first birthday approaches? I find myself feeling very anxious or sad or something I can't put my finger on. I think it's just overwhelming knowing that this first year went by so fast and I'm already having feelings about trying for another one but havent lost the weight from DS yet and we're still recovering financially from maternity leave. I'm just so excited about DS lately he's doing so many awesome things, but just for some reason just cant shake this feeling like time is just slipping by

Re: Time flying by

  • My son is 9 months old and I feel the same way.  I went back to class 4 days after giving birth.  So this summer is really the first time I have gotten to bond with him a ton.  But lately I feel like he is getting so old so quickly.  I am constantly grabbing the camera and video camera to get everything recorded!  I just don't want him to get older right now.  I want to freeze time!  I can't imagine how I will feel in three months when he is turning one!

  • I know exactly what you mean. DD turned one on Sunday, and I will say that it was quite bittersweet. On one hand, it was wonderful to see her so happy and active, but it is so hard when you think about how fast the time goes by.

I won't say it is easy, but I will say this- seeing her enjoying her party and playing with her toys, and having so much personality does make it a lot more tolerable.

Oh, and if it helps, I am right there with you on the TTC front- for basically the same exact reasons. You aren't alone in any of this :)

  • Me too.  I want to have another one and the clock is ticking for me.  I still don't' feel ready though, since my LO is still only eating purees, has just gotten the hang of the sippy and we're transitioning to milk now.  I can't see being pregnant and lifting 22lbs of her every day.  I guess that's why many folks wait 3 years between children.
