That or some ladies are having fun with some made up profiles (I'm having a moment, I can't remember what we call them on here....) I think my brian has checked out early this Friday!

Whats wrong with Killian for a girl? I think it could be a nice name for a girl or boy
Well, it's a boys name for starters.
Its actually a unisex name, good for either boy or girl. That being said, I've actually met 2 females Killians in recent years but no males... not sure how that fits into your world view.

Killian is not in the top 1000 on tha SSA list for girls ever. Just because you met a girl with that name does not change the fact that it is a boy's name.

My question was not for anyone's opinion about our name choice, frankly I don't give d*** what you all think.
I was asking about YOUR naming traditions because I think its interesting how people come up with names for their children these days with so much information/so many options available to us.
For the two or three people who actually read & answered the question (champagne & cheese) I thought those were great. Very clever
Re: Family naming traditions
Um. Your family really does this?
Well, Killian/Cillian is a boy name, for starters.
Hmmmm, not sure I would be proud of that one...
In my family, middle names are family names. If we have a boy, his m/n will be my FIL's f/n and if we have a girl, her m/n will be my Mom's f/n.

No, it can't.
Beer is so low class. Our family tradition is to name our children after champagne: Dom, Krystal, Piper...
You might be thinking about Lillian for a girl. Killian is only OK on a boy.
And we name our kids after cheese: Monterey, Jack, Brie. Being from the Midwest and all...
Now I have a craving for beer cheese soup. Thank you very much.

Thanks! My DH loves the name (and the beer) and thinks its a great story when we explain where the name came from as do our friends and family.
