I need book suggestions

Getting ready to go on vacation, aka the only time I really get to sit and read.  I need book suggestions.  Not into the whole vampire thing or series that have a trillion books.  Suggestions?

  • I just finished The Forgotten Garden by Kate Morton. It was superb. Couldn't put it down.

  • So what are you into?  Any particular genres?

  • The "Where is Waldo" series is good.  I mean, you don't have to do them in any order, and you can skip a BUNCH without making a difference to the series at all.  They're usually good for a few hours.

  • I actually read a lot of middle school books and high school books - I'm always scoping books out for my school book club - but honestly, some of those book are awesome and have great character/plot development.  A few of my favorites are Stargirl by Jerry Spinelli and Silent to the Bone by E.L. Konigsburg.  Then there is:

Gilbert & Sullivan Set Me Free

by Kathleen Karr  which is probably the best audio book I've ever listened to as it's a reader's theatre and they break out into song throughout the book.

  • The Glass Castle by Jeannette Wells
