sippy cup transition

Hi All!! I have 11 month old Identical girls, they were born 2 months early and spent 6 weeks in NICU.

I am trying to switch them over to a sippy cup but I am having NO luck. My older 2 kids were a breeze. The girls are very stubborn. I would like to have them switched before they turn 1 in August. Any suggestions or advise? Thanks in advance.

Try a straw cup. The playtex ones are the ones we use. My dd could never figure out how to tip the sippy but got the straw down pretty quick. Straws are better for their teeth than the sippy spout anyway.

I use a tommee tipppee. To get my daughter to take it I took out the slow suction do-dahs to where the water would just flow straight out of the cup. She didn't  have to work at it. She spilled it all over but realized how it worked. I put the parts back in the cup and she's used it ever since.

I have twins too!  I used the playtex smaller sippy cups with the handles.  I used a little of juice with water first, let them get used to that then started putting milk in it. At morning and night, my kids take the BRU brand sippy cup. It's almost like a bottle.  Good luck.

DD wasn't figuring out the straw or the spout kind until I got some cold water in a regular straw (using the finger covering the top method) and put a small portion of the straw in DD's mouth. 

She got the hang of sucking the water out pretty quickly that way, and the next day, figured out how to use the straw sippy cup. Also, she is a huge fan of cold water, not so much room temp water.

Thanks guys we invested in the straw sippys and so far so good. I was already giving them water throuh my straw. I dont know why I didnt just buy the straw cups at first.. We are putting juice in the cup for now and getting used to it, and then we will move over to milk.
