I have my gestational diabetes test tomorrow morning and I can't remember from last time - am I allowed to drink water during the hour that I'm waiting to get my blood drawn?
Interesting. I was told I could eat before, but anything sweet wasn't recommended. I know I ate some egg beaters before the test last time and I plan to do the same tomorrow morning. I guess I'll just chug water beforehand, just in case. I just am always so thirsty in the mornings so I was going to bring a water bottle with me while I wait. Thank you!

I definitely recommend drinking water before heading into the test. I'm like Dani I have small veins and have a terrible time finding a stick. During the test, you can drink small sips too. I also ate breakfast (eggs, and drink water). I don't think I could survive the one hour test without eating or drinking.
I don't think I could survive without eating first or drinking either. I am already planning my post-appt breakfast at either the new Panera or Wegmans, whichever tickles my fancy tomorrow morning
I wasn't allowed to drink water during the testing either - from my experience having GD, it messes with the results. Drinking water during/after meals is one way you can lower your blood sugar when you have GD.
