Anybody actually live in DC proper? My DH and I are participating in the gentrification of Petworth at the moment. I meet a lot of moms to be who say "oh yeah, I live in DC....I mean northern virginia..." wondering if anybody does so I can pick their brain about good daycares, shops, etc.

    actually, we may be moving to old town alexandria...

     the city is sooo expensive

    we used to live in columbia heights but after I was attacked and robbed in broad daylight, I stay away from DC's extra spicy crime areas, which are the most affordable
