We thought about the crockpot but then didn't want to leave it on all day. We microwave two mugs with some water in them for 2-3 minutes. The bottles warm up to room temp by the time in done changing both diapers.

Oh a crock pot on low is a great idea. We have two bottle Warners and they are a pain in a butt.

I would think a Crock Pot, even on low, would get too hot. We never warmed bottles for the twins (they got one bottle of formula each night with room temp water) and on the few occasions that our oldest got a pumped bottle, we ran hot water into a bowl and just let it warm up to room temp that way.

Best thing I've done with these 2 is to not warm bottles more than room temp. Our oldest would not take a bottle less than warm and it made being out and about impossible. With my breast milk we just turn the faucet to hot and put some water in a cup and place the chilled bottles in it until they aren't refrigerator cold. I warmt heir bedtime bottles a little bit more to help them go down right away. With having 2 of everything, not taking up extra room on the counter with warmers, etc is VERY nice! But I would think a crockpot would get too hot

We have 2 bottle warmers-1 upstairs and 1 downstairs. We have a kinde kozii and Dr Browns. They are both safe for warming breast milk or formula. The kinde is the type where water warms up and you can take the bottle out before the timer is done to check the bottle. The Dr Browns uses steam and gets very hot and is quicker (also can use it to sterilize pacifiers).
We use the Dr Browns formula pitchers (babies are now on different types of formula) and make a batch up for 20-24 hours worth. We started off just using mugs with warm water, but that took forever with 2 bottles and feedings every 2-3 hours!

I've seen the crockpot idea used at day cares. In my opinion, warming bottles is a waste of time (I know most people do it). My DS 1 was in NICU for 1 week, so I ended up pumping for him for 3 months then went to formula. DS2 was a formula baby because I went back to work at 8 weeks. DS3 was exclusively breastfeed since I was SAHM at that point. Anyway, DS1 and DS2 took room temp or refrigerated bottles--no problems with tummy trouble or anything. It was so nice to be able to take bottles anywhere without having to warm them.
bottle warmer for sure! Go on walmart.com and you can get one for pretty cheap! I think I spent under $20 on mine and it has lasted me from day one no problems.

I had two of The First Years bottle warmers and liked them a lot. We made batches of formula once a day and kept it in the fridge, and we warmed them for several months. My mistake was warming to warm, not room temperature, so it took awhile to get the babies used to room temp bottles. The crock pot on all day freaks me out (and takes up way more counter space, and, what if you wanted to actually cook in the crock pot?)
I'm pro-bottle warmer, anti-warming to anything above room temp
I use a tea kettle that I only boil water with (takes like 1-2 minutes). Then I pour the water into a mug/plastic container and put the bottle in the container for like 30-45 seconds (to whatever temp I want).
I put some water in a glass 5 cup Pyrex measuring cup and heat it in the microwave. Both bottles fit in it and they warm up quickly. We don't leave them in long enough to get warm, just take the fridge chill off. I thought about getting one of the little crock pots and leaving it on all the time. I know some day cares do this so I'm sure it works, but I wouldn't want to have 2 sitting on the counter all the time.
If you can figure out how to tweak the crockpot to warm the bottles quickly...and if the crockpot stays on all day...then I'd go for it. You'll need to practice . I hated using bottle Warner's...filling them...waiting for them to get hot and warm the bottle.
