baby girl is supposedly allergic to cows milk so she has been on nutramigen since she was 3 months, now all of a sudden she has been constipated for almost a month now. we've tried prunes, peaches, juices etc...now doc is recommending we switch formula to pregestimil. has anyone tried this?
Re: pregestimil vs nutramigen...
DS is on Nutramigen since 4 months and is now 6 months. I haven't heard of the other but I am interested in why the pedi is recommending a change. DS spits up a Ton, even two hours after eating. Just curious. Who makes it too?
Hi!
I know a little about Pregestimil. This is a formula mad by Enfamil. My daughter recently was given a prescription for Pregestimil. She hasn't been eating like she should and she would vomit when we'd give her Similac Advance which was weird because she'd be drinking it for months. Anyway, Pregestimil is a lactose free milk...and Maliyah has been holding it down quite well. It makes her poop a lot though...on some days she's pooping at least 3 times a day (which I'm assuming is a good thing). Also, from what I read on it if your LO is having issues with breaking down the proteins in the milk it's supposed to be good with that. I believe the nutramigen's milk is already broken down (the protein). Hopefully this helps I know this is a few months old but if you check this just reply back to let me know how it's going for you.
