Hey Dads & Dads-To-Be,

We are in our third trimester and the wife wants to have sex every once in a while, which is awesome, but she is picky and sensitive about positions. She doesn't want to feel fat or think she is too heavy for me (which she is neither) but there are other positions that I feel like might be weird for the baby or are uncomfortable for me (missionary). Any suggestions of what might have, or does work for you?

We laugh at ourselves all of the time when things don't work out or are awkward, so I'm game for any suggestions...it's our first pregnancy so we are cool with trail and error, but next time it would be awesome to have a game plan.

Wife and I were talking about it last night.  She is not into because she is swollen, hot and not really that into sex at the moment.

Me?  I love my wife and think she is sexy as hell, but, she is 2 months out from having this kid, nuff said!  She is more like a biological experiment to me at this point....I say that with love.

Missionary, nice and gentle worked pretty well. Also laying down in the spooning position was nice and easy for us.

We only did woman on top at the end, that's all that worked. Also, sex now is good... after baby comes it can be awhile before she can, let alone she wants to.

This exactly!! On top was the only option, belly got too big!

This cracks me up! Boyfriend and I do the spooning .. its most comfortable for me and he loves it

I think it's awesome that you guys keep your sense of humor about you because being big and feeling unattractive make things difficult. Oddly- despite being in my third trimester, we're still doing it pretty regularly.  Woman on top works pretty well but I can understand the whole feeling "big and heavy" being a turn off for your wife. If you have a chair with no arms and she can be on top in that position it's can help. Spooning works too or having her lie on the edge of the bed while you kneel or stand- so there's no pressure on the belly. Sometimes it just takes letting go of the inhibitions of feeling unattractive or the fact that there's a baby in the belly, which in itself is a challenge.

In front of a mirror standing up - you from behind (obviously) - but the kind of mirror where you can only see her from the waist up. You get to see her boobs, and she won't be so self conscious.

I laid on my side. He had one knee on the bed between my legs and one foot on the floor. He held my top leg or put it on his shoulder. It was great this way.

Another female lurker! Sorry, been trying to get into a guys head. Haha.

Were still in the 2nd tri but we've had a lot of difficulty with sex due to pain for me. Woman on top was extremely painful and missionary puts too much pressure on the stomach for me. We've found that 'doggy' works best. We build up a stack of pillows for me to lay on to make it more comfortable since it feels weird to just let my belly hang. If you have your own pool, try doing it there with you taking her from behind. The water might help her feel better about herself, and you can keep the swimsuits on and let her feel 'naughty' like you can caught. It's a great boost to help make the girl feel sexy!

Any position is fine and will not harm your unborn baby.

Just bend her over the bed and rock that baby to sleep. If you're not doing it that often, then it should only take about 15 min tops. Tell her to suck it up.

My little one is 3 mths so it's pretty fresh on my mind. GL

I agree female on top is the best as long as your both comfortable. Do it as much as possible! lol
