Another sleep ?

I am in no way complaining, but I am curious if other babies are like this.

J is starting to refuse naps/only take cat naps throughout the day. He went to sleep last night at 8ish ( fell asleep on DH's chest while we watched hells kitchen) and then I nursed him and put him in his crib around 9. He woke up to feed at 5:15 and went back to sleep. He woke up at 6:30 and dh took him downstairs and he fell asleep again. He then work up at 9 to eat and fell asleep again. It is now 10 and he is still sleeping! That is 14 hours of interrupted sleep.

 

Do some babies nap less during the daytime and sleep more in big chunks as described above?

I have no clue, but my DD did not take a good nap on Sunday (she usually takes one in the morning and one in the afternoon), she was a BEAR!!!!!  I finally at 8pm said enough, put her in the bathtub and gave her a bottle she out at 9pm and did not wake up till 8am on Monday morning, that was 11 hours of straight sleep!!!  I thought she would wake up around 6am her normal wake up time and no she kept sleeping, it scared the crap out of me.  I guess some days they just don't nap and then they have to catch up somehow!

I think it varies baby to baby and for me day to day.

It seems like daily my LO usually takes a good two hour morning nap and the rest of the day cat naps (30min).  However she is usually happy after the cat naps.  She goes to bed around 10 and sleeps until 4.  Then she sleeps 5-7ish.  So I will take the better night sleep over good naps.

DS Catnaps... 20-45 minutes throughout the day.. but he STTN so I will not complain... occassionally I can put him in his crib and get a good 1-2 hour nap in the middle of the day!

DS does this sometimes. He went to bed at 8, and we woke him up at 7 this morning to eat (I am back at work). When I checked on him at ten, we was still having his morning nap at the neighbors house. Sometimes he wants to only cat nap during the day too.

DS sleeps 12ish hours, eating once, then catnaps all morning, but takes a 3ish hour nap in the afternoon. DD had the same nap pattern and still sleeps 3 hours after lunch!
