Cloth Diapering

Two in diapers???????????????

I am trying to stock up for having 2 under 2 in our house come October. We are currently using bumgenius 4.0 and have been very pleased. My babies tend to be on the larger side (DD was 9 lbs when born) so I am not worried about these diapers not fitting right away.

How many diapers would you try to have on hand? We currently have 28 4.0's with some flips mixed in. Both kids will be going to daycare so I will need to make sure to have plenty to send to daycare for two and try to wash every other day. Currently I am washing every 2-3 days.

  • I think a minimum of 40 sounds about right.  You just may find that you wash more often, but you will get used to your routine.  Have you considered a hybrid system where you can just wipe down the cover between changes?  Especially for your toddler.

We use the flips as often as possible at home but the bg's are much easier for daycare. They have been very accomodating with cloth diapering considering we are the only family doing it. I don't want to rock the boat.

40 seems to be a reasonable amount to have on hand.
