When people talk about "waking up LO every 3 hours to eat" I seriously look at them with alien eyes. My LO is like clockwork in the daytime, 2 hours on the dot. His daytime naps are rarely longer than 30 min. If I'm lucky I get one stretch at night where I feed at 10-11pm, then again 2-3am. But that's just 1 stretch. And if I'm lucky. After that he's back to every 2 OR LESS hours. Please, tell me soon we'll hit 3 hour stretches!?!?!
Re: 6 weeks old & still eating every 2 hours, anyone else?

I get the impression that a lot of BF babies through a growth spurt around 6 weeks. DS did, and it lasted around 10 days. He was eating ever 2 hours or cluster feeding for 4-5 hours straight.
Hang in there! Try to eat well and take naps, and don't put too much pressure on yourself to do much else.
Oops, yes we are EBF. And this isn't how he acts during a growth spurt, this is normal eating! During his 2-3 wk growth spurt he are every 2hrs in the daytime with clusterfeeding in the evenings. I'd get about 20 min "off the boob" before he wanted back on. That lasted 10 or so days. So far *cross my fingers^ this one hasn't had as frantic clusterfeeding. It makes me sad that ff seems easier, and I've literally cried over that, but I also know I'd hate ff bc of prepaing bottles, washing, cleaning, eyc. We just started giving him 1 bottle/day expresses milk & it's like this HUGE help. I can actually accomplish stuff! But, just washing & sterilizing the essentials for that + my pump parts is a PITA. Haha. I guess each has it's pluses & minuses! I've just always read bf babies eat every 2-3hrs and I really wish we were more on the 3hr span, not 2!
Thanks for the support.
I just wanted to throw out there that my ff 5 week old eats anywhere from 2-4 oz every 2-3 during the day and I get one 4-5 hour stretch at night that just started at about 3 weeks.
This is my DD exactly except she's 8wks.
Im sorry I know how hard this is!! Not this lo but my 20 month old at every two hours around the clock until about ten weeks. I remember balling saying if I could just get three hours of sleep I'd be a new woman. Not to scare you but he started sleeping on four hour stretch right before I went back to work but when I went back he started to reverse cycle so he was up every hour all night long. But hang in there your body adjusts and you stop feeling so tired at some point.
Now this lo has slept four to five hour stretches since day one, so each baby is different even each of your own.
During the day my LO still eats every 2-3 hours. It was the same at night until I started letting him sleep in his infant car seat in the crib. Now he sleeps really long stretches! Last night he went down at 8pm and didn't wake until 3:00am for a feeding. When he lays flat in his crib he wakes more often. It must be slight incline and feeling more secure in the car seat maybe?
His daytime naps though are just ok. He will usually give me a really good morning nap and then lately it's been a few cat naps here and there.
I am BFing as well.
This might sound silly, but are you sure he's hungry when he wakes at night? At first whenever my son woke up at night I'd automatically pick him up and feed him. I'm finding now that when he stirs I can leave him alone for a few minutes, and then he falls back to sleep (if he cries I get him regardless). And sometimes if he cries, and has eaten within two hours, I rock him and he will go back to sleep.

At 10 weeks (ie last week) started sleeping for one five hour strech (9-2) then eats like clock work every 2-2.5 hours the rest of the day. We have been able to trick a second 3-4 hour stretch out of him by me feeding him at 2 then DH getting him at 4, he will then sleep till 5-6, but this only works sometimes.
(DH sleeps through the 2am feeding so he can get about 5-6 hours then goes back to sleep for another 1-1.5 so he gets enough to function at work)
