AHN-ih-kah. I've known two women with this name and that's the only pronunciation I've ever heard.
All of this.

My dd (age 9) is Annica (Ann -ick - a) - and yes, it's is after Star Wars - Anakin - my husband is a huge fan- and about half the time if not more people start out with On-ick-a and DD corrects them. We teasingly call her Ah-knee-qua since we both think it is quite a leap to that name from her spelling but sometimes it happens, Very rarely does anyone shorten it, but DD likes Annie, never thought of shortening it to Nicki. I have to admit that people seem to love her name and we have gotten many compliments over it and I am happy that so far she has never met another person with her name. In fact, now I am having a hard time coming up with a name for our soon to be DS, nothing measures up.
Re: How would you pronounce Anika?
Ann-ih-kah... Kind of like Vader from Star Wars (no disrespect, DH is a scifi geek)
I agree Nikki would be a cute nn!
AHN-nee-kah
I'm really fond of this name!
This x 2.
Anika is a common nickname here in Poland.
An-neek-ah. I think it's cute.
Annika or Annica I would pronounce as Ann-ick-ah. I like Anika better.
This.
I would pronounce it an-EEK-uh.
I think Ann, Annie, and Nikki would be the nicknames.

Anika= Ann-ih-kuh
Annika= AHN-ih-kuh
have no idea if this is correct but I know people who spell it each way and it is pronounced differently by them.
This!
I'm surprised so many people don't know how to pronounce this name.

I'd pronounce it as AH-KNEE-Ca.

This. Annika is our DDs name, and she was named after my grandma from Sweden.
Her nickname was going to be Annie, but DH started calling her Nika and it stuck (my mother hates this as her nickname, but oh well
)
I've seen Anika pronounced A-n?e-ka, but only in African American communities, as a name completely different from the Swedish Annika or German Anika.
