Everyone will have a different experience. I went back to the hospital 3 weeks out because I still could barely walk and the pain was miserable and they only gave me enough pain pills for, like, 4 days at home and wouldn't give me any more. It took about 5 weeks for me to feel decent.
I actually had very little pain. I had a pain button and only pushed it a couple of times after surgery. They started me on oral meds about 8 hours after surgery and I was up walking around shortly after that. When you go home just stay on a schedule for your pain meds....after a few days you can adjust the schedule and spread out the paint meds. Before you know it you will have forgotten you had surgery!
I stopped taking narcotics on day 8 and Tylenol a couple days later. I would say I've had no discomfort of any kind since about 3.5 weeks but that seems earlier than other people I know. Everyone heals differently.
The only day I took a pain pill while in the hospital, after the epi & everything wore off, (other than tylenol for headaches) was the day I left. They wanted to make sure I would react ok to it. Other than that, I took two more that day after getting home, mostly because my milk had came in & my head really hurt. Otherwise I haven't had any pain, except for when sneezing, etc. and headaches. I haven't touched my pain pills since the day we got home.
I would say it took about 2 weeks or a little less for all my pain to disappear. Obviously the pain is the worst the first few days and then it starts to improve each day. Eventually it becomes just a mild annoying pain. I didn't need my pain meds longer than one week.
This is my second C Section. My first recovery was horrible and it took about 6 weeks but that wad due to an infection. This most recent one I was pretty much pain free after a week and a half.
The healing is different for everyone. For me it took about 8 weeks to feel okay. Okay like I could walk around the kitchen and clean a bit. I was so impatient and thought I should have bounced right back. I also had some serious cramping and burning off an on about 6-9 weeks out. I am about 5 months out and still have some odd pains and feelings at times but I do feel worlds better. I hope you heal fast!

totally go away, as in no pain at all? A few weeks.
the more intense pain was about 3 days. It was hard for me to sleep because I was so sore.
4 weeks out I remember being in a store and coughing and the burning sensation was so awful, but only because I coughed. I was ok otherwise.
