Thank you MIL for giving my 3 year old Mike n Ikes.

I really think she does things on purpose to get under our skin.  And I'm not someone who believes my child can only eat organic food or something like that but, really is bringing a huge box of Mike n Ikes to my house for my 3 year old necessary?

We had an issue last year when she gave him Skittles. He had just turned 2! DH had to say something to her and tried to explain the whole, choking hazard concept.  She got all offended.

Sorry I had to vent to someone.  Since I'm home alone with DS and hormonal and she just popped in to drop off a bag of sugar.

  • I love mike n ikes!  But... yeah a 3 year old?  I'm about 20 years older and I even have problems choking on them sometimes.  Maybe shes just not thinking things through for whatever reason.  Try not to assume that she is scheming against you trying to get under your skin.  You'll go crazy if you start getting paranoid about stuff like that.  Trust me I know, I have family members that I swear are out to get me but I try not to think about it like that.

  • Argh....the choking hazard is what would irk me...especially if your DH already gave her that speech regarding skittles.

My parents and ILs know that I'm paranoid about DS choking and that candy/sweets are a special occasion thing. I am getting better as he gets older (as are they), but the choking stuff is off limits. Once I said they can stick to ice cream or cookies as treats they totally backed off the candy.

I'd just confiscate the Mike and Ike's and tell her thanks...you'll enjoy them. ;)
