For the shower hosted by my friends, I'd like to take care of the shower favors. I want to give something cool that doesn't cost more than $10 per person. Any thoughts? Ever given or received a shower favor that you really appreciated?
The only favors I have ever gotten is candy. Around where I live we usually just play a game and have some prizes and we have a door prize if you bring diapers you can be entered to win it. Everyone around here does that.
I do think having favors would be cool so maybe look on Orienaltrading.com They have some stuff on there in bulk and it's kind of cheap.

what if you did personalized M&M's (either pink or blue shades depending on babys sex) you could do things such as the babys name, you & DH's name, EDD "It's a Girl/Boy" etc.
I don't think favors are necessary, but if you're going to do them, I agree with the pp's - something edible and sweet. But it's not worth spending a ton of money on them.
I have also seen people give out candles at baby shower. The idea is that someone will text/email you when the mama-to-be goes into labor and everyone is supposed to light the candles to send prayers/good vibes/etc to the mom for a quick and easy labor and a healthy baby. I think both times I've gotten the candles I didn't use them for the stated purpose, but I used them other times just around the house.
For my friend shower, my BFF did small bottles of Bath and Body Works and a pouf and then there was a note attached that said "Thanks for coming to our shower--your next one is on us!"
Ditto the edible option. Maybe your favorite pregnancy craving?
Be careful, though. My mom handmade all these adorable chocolates in plastic bottles adn then had my shower outside. The bottles looked like they were filled with poo.
Try to stick with non-meltables if your shower is during the summer.
I was thinking about doing a mini spa kit, a travel sized lotion, bath fizzies that I am going to make my self in the shape of baby booties ( I am on modified bed rest I have lots of free time), a nail file, and whatever else I can find at Target.

That's cute! I think either edible or useable is best... The candle idea is cute too.

I am going to make Onesie sugar cookies and I am going to decorate them with royal icing and put them in a cellophane bag with a pretty ribbon. I found the cookie cutter on Amazon.com.
I agree with the pp's about edible favors. There is a cute picture on pintrest with popcorn favors in a cute little box with a label that says "Ready to Pop" Gourmet popcorn is pretty easy to find and it would be easy to print your own labels and put them in favor bags. Good luck.
My mo got great personalized stemless wineglasses for the favor at my shower. Figured it would be something people may actually use. Check out favorfavorbaby.com.
I recieved a wonderful favor at my friends baby shower, it was a crystal binki. I loved it and so did everyone else, and they were pretty cheap only about 4 dollars a person. I still have it to this day and I just can't get rid of it.
I got the shower favors for my shower too. Everyone loved them. I waited for the sale at Bath and Body works, and got the small hand sanitizers and put a ribbon and a small card with the same picture from my invitation and put "Thank You', Carol's Baby Shower, and the date. I chose different smells and everyone thought they were nice. I didn't want candy just in case someone did not eat it and did not want something that would just be put away and not used, but...who does not use hand sanitizer. Happy Shower...

Stick with food/edibles. No one wants or needs more cheap plastic crap.
Cookies in a bag, truffles, cute bottles of lemonade with a personalized label.

Oh no!
I agree. I do not think it is necessary, but if you do something, I would recommend it an edible treat.
You could do a cute little pot or bunch of Thyme with tag with the play on words "it's almost thyme".
That's super cute!
That's adorable! I'll have to keep that in mind for any future showers I plan/host!
