Baby Sign Language Books?

Hey Ladies!  I origioanlly registered for this Baby Sign Language Book/Video set (for hearing babies):

https://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2743416&fromRegistryNumber=48197277&product_skn=733080

I didn't get it for my shower, and it's $40.  Just curious if anyone found something similar that they liked for less $$$?

I've heard good things about siging with your baby before they can talk.

TIA!

EDD 10/15/16
At 20-week anatomy scan found IUGR (Intrauterine Growth Restriction), and very low Amniotic Fluid.  Now, I'm High Risk and have weekly ultrasounds to monitor fluid and growth.  If baby runs out of room or is too growth restricted, they will deliver ASAP.  My current goal is to make it to 28 weeks!

Re: Baby Sign Language Books?

  • My DD learned the milk sign very early (4 months) and then kept going from there.  It was SO helpful and she didn't have tantrums like other kids.  I LOVE Baby Signing time videos (stalk babysteals.com which sometimes have deals or check ebay or the library).  My DD at about 9 months LOVED those and she learned so much faster from seeing other kids rather than mom and dad (FYI I normally hate videos and we don't even own a TV so me saying a video is good is odd).

I second the baby signing videos! I would put them on while I was cooking dinner and my LO loved them. His word comprehension is amazing because of signing!
  • We have Baby Signing 1-2-3: The Easy-to-Use Illustrated Guide for Every Stage and Every AgeAmazon: https://www.amazon.com/Baby-Signing-1-2-3-Easy-Use/dp/1402209789/ref=br_it_dp_o_nC?ie=UTF8&coliid=I22ICTD2RSCWT&colid=31YRJP3DIHQM4    I like that it gives suggestions of words to use by age as well as reference charts you can put around the house.. the eating words to put in the kitchen, etc.
