Pregnant after 35

Narrowing the names down ...

DD is due on 7/18 ... so close

Isabella Frances Verdi - this was on my list and the one DH really wants. It was originally on his list too. He did know it was popular at first like myself. Flow seems nice right now with our last name.

Elizabeth Frances Verdi - on my list, not his. It is #11 on SSA so it is common ladies. There are also sooo many nicknames with this her actual name might get lost over time.

Ava Frances Verdi - on both of our lists but in the end DH thinks it is too short. You might not get many nicknames which is good but might be boring like Anna.

We took off Francesca because of the whole Franki / Franny thing - I loathe both and made Frances the middle name to honor his deceased parents. I also like it as middle name because DS's middle name is Francis, not Frances as will be hers ... there will always be that connection even though she will probably marry some day and change her last name.

If I am torn between two, say Elizabeth and Isabella and DH I know prefers Isabella ( aka the Italian and Spanish variation of Elizabeth) do we just go with Isabella? His initial thought at Elizabeth was no. I feel I already knocked out Franchesca as a first name in honor of his mother, Frances. BTW: I also informed him of the rank on popularity list of Isabella and he said so, I was one of 3 and, I myself out of a HS class of 180 was one of 3 with my first name.

  • I love Isabella Frances, and the fact that is sounds great with your last name. Definitely my top pick.

  • I happen to love all of these options (including Ava), so I can see why you are having such a hard time.

IMO, popularity in the name isn't a big deal. and I'm a person who's 1st name was #1 the year she was born, and my middle name was #2. And as far as nicknames... any one of them could have a nickname that's based off their personality, or some other  factor and have nothing to do with their name.

  • I prefer Isabella, but if you are sort of on the fence, couldn't you wait until you meet her to see which strikes you as "her"?
