After LO took his first steps, it was about 2 weeks of him alternating walking and crawling and then he totally switched to walking. That was 2+ months ago and now he is running everywhere! Totally exhausting for me and DH!!

Same! I am interested to know, do you feel like gross motor and verbal are a trade off? Pretty much all he says is "dog" as he runs away!

Kind of - DH and I were just talking about this yesterday. DS says maybe half a dozen words and communicates pretty well, but some of the words aren't really words. Like "ba" for bottle/sippy. DH seemed to think he is slow to get going with the talking but our pedi said he looks for 3 words at age 1 as an average and DS had at least 5 or so at the time, so I'm not concerned.
What I'm starting to realize is that I think DS has more words than I'm aware of. He says things that mean something to him and DH and I are trying as hard as we can to decipher them, lol!!

You know, we are very verbal but can only walk with assistance. Even if it is just holding one hand. She says Mama, Mommy, Daddy, yayyy, Kitty, Duchess, Chloe, Bubba ( the dogs). She has said Grandma and Thank You as well (copying us though, not with purpose).
I said a mixture of walking and crawling, but it really just depends where we are. At home or in someone's house he pretty much walks everywhere. If we're at the park or somewhere out he still prefers to crawl. I think because there aren't as many places for him to take a break or steady himself if he needs to.
ETA: Oh, and I definitely feel like verbal and gross motor seem to be a trade off. Ev learned a ton of words between 11-12 months, but made no progress with walking or standing unassisted. Since he turned one he seems to be solely focusing on walking and standing - he hasn't really been talking as much or picking up new words at nearly the rate he was before (in fact the only new word he's said in probably the last month is "papa").
We are still just cruising and walking holding on to one finger. I'm pretty sure he could walk by himself, he just has no interest, crawling is much faster in his book, and fast is the only way to travel.
In our case the verbal vs motor isn't a trade off. She just isn't doing either.
She still doesn't say a single word with purpose and she can stand on her own and take one or two steps but she isn't full on walking yet. Oh and she was a pretty late crawler.
Once she really got her balance walking, there was no going back. lol
Same here. She doesn't crawl much anymore. Just walking like a drunk!
She doesn't really speak. She says mama and dada, occasionally with purpose. And she meows at the cats and at dogs too. She clicks her tongue at her rocking horse. So I guess in our case it is a trade off. She's always been more physical and has reached those milestones first.

Maybe my baby is just slow all around.
Late crawler here too. Like 11 months. I was convinced she would skip it.
I said stands and takes a few steps without assistance. She has been doing that since just after her first birthday. She wants to walk ALL the time, but she still prefers to hold one of our hands while she does it, only taking a couple of steps on her own at a time, and usually only at home on the carpet where she knows she'll have a soft landing!
She has pretty developed verbal skills, so I do see it as a trade-off. Her new word(s) this week is "belly button" though right now it sounds more like "beh bada" -- but she is pointing at her belly button or mine when she says it, so I know she knows what it means even if she isn't saying it quite correctly!
In our case, it's a trade off. LO now has about 15 words and word approximations, some of which he uses appropriately, some not, but he's not even close to walking. He'll walk behind his push toy and with hands held, but he much prefers to crawl and not even practice walking, b/c he probably knows it's much faster. I'm sure he'll get there, and as long as he's in the average range, I'm fine with it.

This is us too! Nolan has no balance whatsoever. He still only arms crawls and has never crawled on his hands or knees. He can pull up and walk along the couch or holding my hand, but the minute I let go of him he falls.
He also says 0 words with meaning. He babbles a lot and can scream like he's being murdered, but no real words yet!

He's been taking a step here and there since 5/31 (I wrote it on his milestone wall!), but over the weekend when DH and I were OOT for a wedding he started walking A LOT more. He is a 50/50 walking crawling mix!

We are still only with assistance camp. We aren't close.
It's more like she is trying to run with assistance. I think she is afraid of letting go. She is able to stand for longer periods of time on her own.

haha us too! Collin runs all over the place! It's crazy how they can go from tottering and falling to running in just a few weeks.
