Any other ladies out there confined to their couch or bed? I just got out of the hospital today after being there for 5 days for contractions. The doctor feared preterm labor so Thursday and Friday last week I receieved the steroids for the babys lungs to develop. So now back home on complete bed rest til at least 36 weeks! 3 weeks to go! Any other mamas out there? It wasn't so bad at the hospital with someone always checking in on me but I think tomorrow when hubby goes back to wok I'm going to go crazy! I'm going to set up a cooler  by the couch, my laptop and some books. Maybe get started on that baby sign language book. Any other suggestions of ways to make the time go by?? I may be poking my nose on this board and it's threads with all my extra time, hope that's okay!

Re: Bedrest anyone?
yup! i'm a week and a half into it, have another week and a half to go! I spent 5 days in the hospital because i was leaking amniotic fluid and am 90% effaced. Leak stopped though and no signs of infection yet (i've been on antibiotics). I also got the steroid shots as they didn't know if I would go into labor or not. Fortunately while some small contractions showed up on the monitors, I never felt any. Ultrasounds showed my amniotic fluid levels were still really high too.
I've been home for about a week now. I spend most of my time on the couch with my laptop. I watched season 1 of Revenge and now I'm watching all 6 seasons of The Wonder Years. I did all the thank you notes from my showers and now I'm organizing my file cabinet
  So much fun.
I still have to get up to the bathroom a million times of day and the doc said I'm find to go in the kitchen to prepare a meal for myself. If I get up and do something I try to follow it up with at least an hour on the couch.
baby showers board is good for entertainment

Not this go around, but with my first I was on hospital bedrest for a week, was 3cm and 80%. Then on bedrest and meds for the next month. It was tough but so incredibly worth it as I ended up keeping my LO baking until I was 38wks.
I stayed on the forums, read a lot, did jigsaw puzzles, and watched a lot of netflix and hulu which kind of helped passed the time.
Good luck!

I have been on bed rest for just over 10 weeks, 2 of which were strict hospital bed rest. While bed rest does stink, I just keep reminding myself of why I am doing it. I have downloaded numerous baby type books onto my Kindle and have even been practicing with the Baby Signs Kit that my husband bought me. Online shopping has also been one of my vices.
I completely understand how difficult it is but realize how temporary it is. Take this opportunity to do some things for yourself and rest up as your little miracle will be here before you know it and your "me" time will be pretty much non-existent. GL!!

strict bed rest (5 days hospital) since April. I look forward to doctor appointments...now twice a week (YAY). I have done everything from finishing up work the first couple of weeks, read books, shop for odd and ends stuff for the house that I had on my to do list before. Puzzle books, word search, coloring books, netflix to catch up on movies and tv shows.
The week of July 9th my doctor will take my cerclage out and basically I am on my own...meaning they won't do anything to stop labor.
I just joined the bedrest club Friday for pregnancy induced hypertension. I only have a couple days under my belt (all in the hospital til today) and am already looking forward to my next dr's appt tmw to get out of the house.
