Christ on a bike, are you f'ing kidding me?  You're right, clearly having multiple children and an opinion makes someone a bully and a loser.  Makes perfect sense.

That's incredibly fxcked up to say.  Damn, I'm glad you put her back RF since it's safest but talking shiiit about someone's family is redic.

Look, if you have any more car seat posts/issues/questions, join the FB group Car Seats for the Littles (https://www.facebook.com/groups/CarSeatsForTheLittles/).  It's full of car seat technicians and child passenger safety experts.  They'll help you out and are extremely nice.

I meant exactly what I said, you're a hypocrite. You stated that I am making parenting decisions based on one article and you are judging me based on one thread. Hold your hypocritical ways accountable! It's people like you that make this board complete drama! I feel sorry for your family, having such a judgemental hypocrite living in the house. Unless my decisions directly impact your family, you have no right to attack me. I'm so over this thread and I really wish you would get a life and move on...

"Hypocrite... a person who acts in contradiction to his or her stated beliefs or feelings" (Websters online dictionary, https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/hypocrite)

That would be the definition of a hypocrite (and my link isn't from 2010).  My children, under the age of 3, are RFing therefore I am not a hypocrite.

I do love how you are aggravated with me for judging you over one post, yet you just made a decision about my life, and family based on this post alone, that is the personification of a hypocrite.

Any person that has 5 children and that is a Bump bully is obviously a loser. Get a life...

One could argue that having 5 children in fact proves that I have a life, or at least a lot of sex (and that's a pretty good life if you ask me!) because lets be honest, how else do you end up with 5 kids?

I hope you enjoyed your evening because I spent mine entertaining one of my friends that I met on the bump (actually on this board), her family came over for a play date and dinner.  Then I spent some time on our back porch blowing bubbles and letting our children play together (the one year old's were especially cute popping bubbles). When it started to get dark I got them ready for bed, said goodbye to my friends, and went upstairs to have some "me time" and watch the Yankee game, which is why it took quite some time for me to respond to your lovely post.

Oh, the horror of my life.

  • I'm only here for the laughs. I have one short child who is RF, and I do enjoy a good bump brawl. Does this make me a loser too?

Oh, the horror of my life.

Yes Mamabear the "horrors" that are your life. Your such a "mean internet bully" that when people move 3,000+ miles away from where they spent their entire life to an area close to you you tell them things like, "Oh I live there if you need anything let me know" You invite them over to your house and immediately make them feel as welcome as if you have been friends for many years not just a few days.

When your friends post about having bad days you do such terrible things like call and text to check up on them and make sure they are ok. Offer to have a play date so they can get out of their house relax and take their minds off their troubles.

Yes your such a awful person. I think if some people were as awful as you the world would be such a better place

That was to be expected when you have a bunch of women bickering back and forth. It's just more amusing that the whole bump community has viewed this thread, did you see how many views it has?!?! June 2011 is has officially joined the popular crowd! Wink

"just took your pedi's information on something that is a safety issue, not a medical one"

Can I ask why this is a big deal?  We should be able to trust that pediatricians are aware of current research and they should know best what's best for young children.  I, for one, have asked my pedi's recommendations regarding how long formula can be left out.  Technically, that's a safety issue...but I'm a first time mom and I trust my pedi completely.  I asked her because I did research and got conflicting answers.  Was I wrong for consulting a professional?

The line between "safety issues" and "medical issues" is hazy...a safety issue can turn into a medical issue if proper precautions aren't taken.  I don't think you should fault her for taking her pedi's advice on a baby-related matter.

well his board has stayed more active than many of the other past birth month boards ;) just sayin'. Not bashing either side but I will say if someone started putting down my parenting I'd get pretty bitchy and defensive too. Taking personal hits like that just wasn't the way to go. The OP said she changed her mind and it should have been left at that...

I personally wouldn't take anyone's advice without doing my own research.  I do weigh my pedi's advice heavily, but if there is something out there that contradicts her I'm going to see what it is and why people feel that way.  I guess I'm more analytical than other people, there are always two sides to any rule/law/etc and I'd like to see both sides before deciding to choose what works for my family.  Blindly following anyone's recommendations is generally not a good practice for anything in life.

For example, my pediatrician is pro vaccination, so are all of my friends and family members.  When I had DS1 no one even thought there was a question weather or not to vaccinate (it's just what you do right?) I did my own research and came to the conclusion that it was right for our family to go ahead and vaccinate our kids. We agreed on this topic, but I didn't just listen to my pediatrician tell me to do it and blindly follow her.

To use your example on formula (if I remember correctly, DS3 never had formula) the can of formula usually has directions about how to prepare it and about how long it stays good for.  I would trust the packaging of the product over my pediatrician, again, they are not up to date on every single brand of formula, and I think the manufactures of the formula have a better grasp on how long their product is good for.

Pediatricians are a great source of information, but they are only ONE source. I think by looking at the wide variations of what parents on this board (or any board really) have posted about what their pediatrician recommends it proves that pediatricians are not up to date on the latest and greatest in all aspects of your child's life.
