Long - Overdue and trying to prevent induction

Hi Ladies!  So as of today, I am 41 weeks, 3 days by the doctor's count. My goal is a non-medicated, vaginal delivery. So, I really want to avoid induction as much as possible. I've been in early labor since Sunday with steady, hard contractions about every 10 minutes. They just won't speed up. I was 2 cm and 80% effaced as of Wednesday, and the doctor seemed to think my water bags would break within about 48 hours. That however, did not happen. The labor has moved to my back, and it is hard to walk, move, sit, breath, talk through them. I've tried pretty much every induction technique that has been offered on the boards. We know for sure that baby is in the correct head down, face back position from ultrasounds. I just don't think that baby is dropping enough to press against my cervix. Any recommendation to get the baby to move down? And any recommendations for help with the back labor?

  • Ugh, I developed back labor when I started pushing. It was awful and all I wanted to do was get off my back. Can you bounce on an exercise ball or rock on all fours? I hope your LO comes soon!

  • During my inducfion which was not bad at all (juat in case you need one) my labor nurse had me layon my sides alternating every 2-4hours withmy opposite leg up on the stirup. She said it helps openup your pelvis and encourage baby to come down. Im sure if you propped your leg upon am exercise ball it would work the same or if your husband went to get you a peanut shaped one. She said the peanut shaped ones are the same as the stirups she just uses the stirups cause their there already :).good luck mama
  • Ps blowing labor dust and wishing it your way. Your way overdue and need to meet you lo soon. Hopefully today :)
