The other post about transitioning from bm or formula to WCM got me thinking. How are you all planning on transitioning to a cup? I give Max a sippy with water at his meals and he sometimes drinks it but mostly ignores or plays with it. Should I start giving him formula in the sippy before he turns one year? My pedi said the goal is for him to be off the bottle by 12 - 15 months.
I plan to give him formula only in his bottle, cow milk only in a sippy. He will take the sippy though when he is thirsty for water. My sister did it this way, and it has worked for her 3 kids. I assume when you are replacing a formula bottle with a cow milk sippy, he will be thirtsy/hungry and ready for it?
I did the same with DD1 no formula in sippy. We will just start cutting bottles out at 11 months. Then at 12 months she will only have her night bottle. I will drop the final bottle at 13 months. It worked with DD1, so let's hope it works for this one!
