Has anyone used this site to find a babysitter/nanny/DC? I'm still agonizing over applying to a per-diem job and going back to work a couple days a week. We've called a few DCs, but they are either full and/or don't take drop-ins. I'm wondering now if I should try to find someone to watch M at our house since the schedule would be so random. Just wanted to hear your stories about this website! TIA!

I don't mind at all!! So, you have to put out an ad to find a babysitter? Hmm, I didn't realize that was how it worked. I found a few ladies I wanted to contact, but now I'm to the point where I have to pay in order to do that. I guess I need to decide if I want to apply for the job first. It's sooo hard. I've never left DD with anyone but DH, and that's only been for a couple hours! So it's really hard to imagine leaving her with a stranger
You can do it either way - you can search the providers yourself or run an ad. You could do a trial run with any sitter before you go back to work and that might help get you a bit more comfortable. Totally get your fear. We used care because we had no other way to find the sitters we needed and a good friend found her nanny on the site - but it made me a bit nervous at first!

Have you used this site to find drop in care centers? https://mnchildcare.org/findingcc/
I used the TX site to find my day care.
I am in a smallish town in MI now. Stupid Bump won't let me change it. Thanks, though!
Sorry just trying to be helpful. Our work system is down all day and they still made us come in. Away try this. I see a few hits:

I posted on it when we first moved to Pittsburgh. Because we didnt know anyone and we wanted a sitter. I talked to a couple of nice girls but never got around to interviewing because I ended up not getting a job or going back to school right away like we had originally planned after our move.
I'll use them again soon though. Because I am going back to school this fall and getting a part time job. DS1 will go to pre-school a couple days a week and both will go to daycare...if I have classes or work.
We used both sittercity and Care. We first interviewed from both back when I was pregnant and found a few nice girls. I found that the ones from care.com were more professional than sittercity. We are still using the same person that comes to our house since Olivia was born so for us it worked out really well. It also helped that our particular girl had her own back up people in case she ever needed time off.
