Yes and no. Those first weeks we often had enough adults that one could keep holding the baby and I could play with the toddler. If she had been hard to put down we would have done that more but it turns out that she's easy as far as sleeping goes so we did put her down.
We also chose to put her in the guest room for naps so that my son still had access to the kids' room while she was napping. We're weaning away from that now because she's getting too big for the bassinet we have in there.
If DD fell asleep in her swing or bouncy chair, I'd leave her there. If she was fussy and needed to be put down, I'd put her in her crib. I also wanted her to get used to sleeping with noise and not having people tip toe around the house.
My infant sleeps in the pnp in the living room and has since day one. He will sleep though anything. I put ds #2 in another room and had the house quite during naps and now he wales up to any noise. I need this one to handle noise and he does.
