I'm new to cloth diapering and have a problem with some of my pockets. The ones that work best for my son right now are ones I bought on eBay from China. I love them but in a few of them, the laminate on the inside of the pocket has started to separate from the outer shell. I'm trying to figure out why this is happening. I use Purex free & clear & this is my wash regimen: hot rinse, hot wash & cold rinse on delicate, then 2nd cold rinse. Then I dry on low heat. I'd really appreciate any help in figuring out the problem. Also, are the affectex pockets useless now? TIA!!
Re: Laminate separating from inside pockets
A couple things:
1. You normally do a cold rinse first, not a hot rinse.
2. Generally, it is not suggested to use free & clear detergents- they aren't good for CDs
3. I never, ever, ever dry anything that has PUL. (The laminate stuff). It makes it go bad faster.
4. You can keep using them as long as they are working!
You just need to be careful to make sure that you don't rip anything when you stuff them. Honestly, the pockets delaminating already could be just the quality of the diapers if they were cheap.
HTH!
