I've been having a lot of trouble with being dizzy/shakey/passing out the last few weeks. I've been doing great on my water/food intake and had to take the glucose test early (which I passed). We will be discussing this issue at my appointment on Monday, but I got to thinking today....
I'm a teacher and we start school in August. My school has no a/c, the temps are usually in the 80's and 90's (making our building HOTT) and my class will be filled with 23 Kindergartners. Is the heat going to make this issue worse if we can't figure out the reason? Is this something I'll be put on bed rest for (I don't want that!)???
My brain is just going going going.....thanks for reading my ramblings ![]()
Re: just curious
I have this problem and actually passed out about a week ago! (Luckily, my husband was there to catch me as I fell.. )
We had a scheduled appointment the next morning with our OB and he said that I was more than likely overheated (I wasn't even sweating, which is quite a feat in this 100+ weather we've been having) and standing for too long. I thought he was insane because I was only standing for like 10 minutes at the time and routinely go on 2+ mile walks. But he said that standing still can make pregnant women pass out because the blood vessels in the lower half of your body are pumping more blood and therefore there is less blood making its way back to your head.
I will say that I noticed myself feeling wobbley again while shopping yesterday and immediately felt better after sitting down and drinking some water. That's just my body and how I'm handling it. Hope that helps!
