Hello ladies--have been away for awhile but just posted a bit ago on the Success after If board to hear from any donor egg users at any stage from waiting for a donor match to success after using donor eggs, but am also posting here because I'm not sure which board specifically would be the right place...I have undergone many IVFs and many IUIs with only negative betas, the heartbreak of a pregnancy that I wasn't able to carry to term, and chemical pregnancies...this morning my husband and I made the decision to use donor eggs for our next IVF instead of trying again with my (poor quality) eggs...very overwhelming emotionally so I'm turning to the bump to hear from anyone who can share their experience with donor egg use...
2009: 1st IVF began 12/29, cancelled due to OHSS; 1st full IVF began 2/10 ER 2/27 ET 3/4 BFN 3/13; IVF #2 began 5/23 ER 6/4 ET 6/9 BFP 6/18 Lost our baby on 9/12. 2010: IVF #3 (w/PGD) began 2/1 ER: 2/15 ET: 2/20 BFN 3/1; Took a break for hernia surgery and recovery; IVF #4 (w/PGD) began 6/30 ER 7/13 ET 7/18 BFN 7/27; IVF #5 began 10/23 ER 11/5 ET 11/10 Low Pos 11/19 BFN 11/22; Took a break: got a 2nd opinion,changed insurance,chose a new RE,and recharged emotionally. 2011: "Back-to-Back" IUIs on 6/4, 6/6, and 6/7 BFN on 6/21. "Back-to-Back" IUIs on 7/3 & 7/5 BFN on 7/19. "Back-to-Back" IUIs on 7/30, 8/1 & 8/2...the journey continues into 2012 with three more IVFs and 6 more IUIs...now looking at IVF with donor egg
There is a check in on tuesdays on the IF board. Here are some links from the IFV FAQ. My experience has been the super frustrating double BFN for no reason identifiable to date. DE program research can be overwhelming if you want to explore all the different options out there or if you have specific needs from a donor (both me). Others here have found the process to be quick and easy. A good starting point is the book : Having Your Baby through Egg Donation. GL
There are lots of us who have used donor eggs and have come to the decision to use DE for different reasons. Please join our Tuesday check in and best of luck with your decision.

Edwina, thank you for this excellent Post!! lots of valuable information. Just FYI I found a new book (well, new to me) titled : The Insider's guide to Egg Donation copyright 2012. I've only read about 60 pages, I think it is decent.
Ren's bride : GL with your planning / decision making process! MH and I started the DE journey this month! I have found the www.pved.org website to be extremely helpful.

I don't usually post here but used to post on IF. We did DE because cancer tx took away my ability to have bio kids at 23. Didn't bank eggs either because my cancer was so far advanced doctors said it was my eggs or me. We were lucky for it to take on first try (DE IVF with ICSI). I have two beautiful babies because of it and they are mine regardless of bio connection! I grew them, had a lung collapse at 14w, horrid ms, heart failure at 25w, cholestasis, GD, and pre-clampsia, and an IUGR baby- so I figure I paid my dues with a cruddy pregnancy... The bio connection is no big deal to me, my daughter actually looks like me...
