Congrats to all mammas! ! I am 4 weeks 5 days! First pregnancy. So far no major symptoms. Just some mild cramping. I did spot a little bit over the wkend but that's what happens when the cell is implanting in the uterus. I have my first dr. app april 17 th. Good luck to everyone. Hi fellow 4 week bumpies! I am StefH1973, but please call me Stef. I am excited to join this group and have a lot to learn about being PG, as this is (fingers crossed) my first viable pregnancy.
Due date: I'm not certain, but it looks like sometime in mid-December (based on LMP)...though I am cautiously optimistic at this point since I am high-risk due to my age (39), high blood pressure, kidney disease, and previous miscarriage. Also, my HCG levels are still kind of low (only 66), though I am moving in the right direction.
What I do: I am a child and family therapist, mostly working with at-risk families and children in the child welfare system with a history of traumas (abuse, neglect, etc). I also train the staff at my agency on trauma informed practice and "best practices" in mental health intervention to improve outcomes for the families we serve. When I find time, I also teach parenting classes with a focus on preventing violence in children's lives.
How I met my SO: My husband Todd and I met in college in California in 2001, began dating in 2002, and spent the next 5 years completing our undergraduate and graduate degrees together in Massachusetts and then in Washington DC, where we eventually settled and bought our first home in 2007. After celebrating 7 years together, we finally married in Los Cabos, Baja Mexico on May 11, 2009.
Fur babies: We currently have 3 fur babies...all rescues: Cali (9 year old Calico kitty), Una (5 year old Beagle/Australian Cattle Dog mix), and Riley (3 year old Staffordshire Bull Terrier mix).
Loves: Music, dancing, movies, fashion, decorating, party planning, crafts, baking, Mexican food, ice cream, and chocolate (how will I ever survive for 9 months!?!)
Hates: Hmmm...that's a tough one. I don't really hate anything, though some annoyances would be politics, indecisive drivers, hypocrisy and dishonesty...oh and mushrooms...yuck!

How I met my SO: He's the maintenance guy at the apartments I live at. When the relationship I was in went sour, he was kind enough to let me stay with him until I could get money to go to my parents. I never left.
Fur Babies: I have a German Shepard/Malemute mix named Rashka and a terrier mix named Rowdy. I'm claimed by a stray momma cat and her kittens and several other animals at the local pet shops because of how often I go in there to buy crickets for my toad.
Loves: Warmth, cuddles, food, sleep, just about everything.
Hates: Rudeness and intentional stupidity.
