I don't think I want to register, We (DH & I) plan on buying the larger things ourselves. I'm also not sure if I'm going to get a shower (see previous post) so I would feel weird stalking my registry if no movement happens.
Anybody doing the same? or am I the odd man out? Thanks in advance.
Re: Anybody planning not to register?
This is my first baby and even though I am not having a shower I still registered. Mainly for the completion coupons. Since we were buying all the stuff ourselves we figured we might as well get a discount on it. Then it turned out a couple of my friends asked if I was registered and they bought a few things from the registery.
I would definately say register, if for anything else for the completion coupons to save a bit of $$.
We registered, but only for two reasons... the coupons and to keep a list of the things we need to get. This is #2 for us (2nd boy), and we kept everything from #1, so we don't need much, mainly replacement bottles, and diaper bags, and I want a cosleeper this time. We still have the travel system, crib, and tons of newborn clothes.
As far as I know, there isn't a shower planned for us, and I would think if there was going to be one, I'd have heard about it by now (being 12 weeks from EDD and all)

I'm a FTM but not having a shower (SIL offered to host but I declined, as most of my friends/family are scattered all over the country/world). However, I still will register, probably on amazon. I think some of my friends may ask me if/where I registered and I'd rather them get me things that I really want/need than things that I don't want.

I would register for the mere convenience of having a list of everything you need and may want.
If you are online a bit, amazon registry is great. They offer a universal registry, too, which allows you to add items from other sites to your amazon list. Plus I finally signed up for amazon mom so shipping on most items is free.

I would register just so that if anyone does ask you where you're registered at they can get something that you want off of your list.
I got married and didn't have a wedding or shower or anything and I can't tell you how much grief I got from people that wanted to get me stuff but didn't because I wasn't registered.
Appease your friends and family and just go register. Plus like the other ladies said you can get the coupons. Saving money never hurt anyone.
