Bug protection

We are going to a friend's for the Fourth to set off some mostly illegal fireworks. It will technically be after DS's bedtime (which is usually 8PM) when we are setting them off. I am preparing to take a blanket for him to sleep on, or put him in his carseat if it works better. How can I best protect him from bugs? I have a mosquito net that came with his stroller...but I kind of want to double up on protection. Has anyone tried one of those clip on Off! products near the baby to repel bugs? Thank you!

I haven't used them yet but that is exactly what I bought.  I plan to do the same...use the net and have the clip on the stroller too.  My pedi recommended getting the clips and not using any sort of spray.
