Since I'm exhausted today and am looking for ways to procrastinate:
My grandparents had 16 children, 8 girls and 8 boys. To most people, this sounds crazy, but to a name nerd it's a bit of a fantasy! When I was little, I would always make up lists of what I would name my kids if I had 16 of them. It's actually quite challenging! So let's see what you can come up with: If you had 16 children, what would you name them?
And in case you were wondering, here are the names of their 16 children:
Phillip, Catherine (Cathy), Michael (Micky), Thomas, James (Jimmy), Richard, Margaret (Peggy), Marianne, Timothy, Therese, Maribeth, Patricia (Patty), Julie, Daniel, Colleen, Christopher
Re: If you had 16 kids...
Danica, Carys, Ivy, Blair, June, Greta, Lucy, Darcy
Rowan, Simon, August, Arlo, Lane, Archer, Tristan, Oliver
That was tough for boys!

This is tough for me, as DH and I both have large families full of great names, and we're trying to avoid using family names as first names. Also, our last name is very limiting.

I always play games like this, and it drives my husband nuts:
Ladies: Edith (Edie), Charlotte, Eleanor (Nora), Caroline, Margaret (Maggie), and Hazel
Gentlemen: Luke, Drew, Charles (Charlie), Graham, Jude, and Benjamin (Ben).
That was actually really easy to do. Eeek. Maybe my husband's dream of a huge family will become a reality. An older friend once told me she never meant to have six kids, she just had six names she wanted to use. She was joking, of course, but I know what she means!
Boys:
Isaac, Andrew (Drew), Noah, Nicholas, Levi, Lucas, Alexander, Owen
Girls:
Felicity (DD) Anneliese, Gabriella (Brie), Evelyn, Jane, Noelle, Naomi, Cecily
My grandparents had 9 kids and I used to fantasize about that for purely naming reasons! 16....wow!!!
Margaret Marianne, Elizabeth Josephine, Amelia Jane, Elinor Catherine, Grace Rebekah, Charlotte Penelope, Lillian Renee, Evelyn Fiona
Theodore Robert, William Thomas, Peter Samuel, Benjamin Joseph, Ezra Christian, Alexander George, Judah Franklin, Levi Jonathan.
I have a running list of 5 for both genders that we like...coming up with the last 3 for both was hard!
