I'd post that on the toddler board, too. LOL There was a big debate last week or something over that. One girl actually called her ped. and the ped. told her coats in the car seat were OK. Because you know, all peds. are up-to-date on car seat safety.

Hey, mine actually has a big article in every room about why ERF is best! They've never asked anything about the carseat directly, though.
Pam, I always get in with them first and turn around and buckle them in. That way they can wear a coat to the car from wherever we are. I've never dealt with winters like you have up there, so I really don't know. Have you ever posted on car-safety.org? You don't have to register to ask a question, and I'm sure there are people from Canada on there that could help you.
We had a really thick winter carseat poncho made for DD. It's double sherpa lined and then almost like a wool like material on the outside. I think those are the right materials. Either way it's really warm and thick! I also had them make it really long so it'd cover her feet plus some. In the winter, I usually have her in a little fleece jacket and the carseat poncho. It's worked great for us. It's amazing! I have no idea what winters are like in Canada though. I'm in Northern IL.
And its conversations like this that make me believe that surviving 110+ summers in exchange for pleasant winters is totally worth it. I don't know how anyone could function in -40 weather!
Re: Video for winter: coats and carseats!!!
I know where you got that from!
