I first tested on Saturday and got a very faint line, Sunday it was faint but visible. I went to the doctor on my lunch break and she gave me a urine test that came back negative. Did this ever happen to anyone else? I am thinking it could be the dilution of the urine because it is later in the day or maybe her tests aren't as sensitive? Not sure but I am so down now! ![]()
Oh and I am only about 13 DPO...
Re: Did anyone else get a negative urine test at the doctor?
If you used relatively diluted urine, and are only about 13dpo, it is highly likely that this was a false negative at the doctor's office.
Surprisingly enough, most of the time the tests at the Dr.'s offices are less sensitive than HPT's, partially because the cost of more sensitive tests is so much greater than the less sensitive tests. The quantitative beta test that they perform at hospitals/labs is very sensitive down to 0.1, but most Dr.'s offices regular urine tests only detect a minimum of 25.

This happened to me both times I've been pregnant. The tests they use at the dr. office are usually not as sensitive as the ones you buy at the drug store. Wait a week & go back to the dr, it will most likely be positive then.
Happened to me too, I had multiple positive OTC tests including a digital, but went to the docs and it was negative. He sent me for blood work and my beta levels were 97, indicating a very early pregnancy. Just got them re-tested today and going back on Thursday to make sure everything is progressing as it should.
GL to you, and try not to stress! (easier said than done, I know, I cried in the office when they told me mine was negative.)
