Dr Brown level 4 vs Y cut

I'm curious how much difference there is between the Level 4 and the Y cut bottle nipples.

We've already moved our 5 month old to the Level 3 and obviously the next step won't be far off. The package for both the 4 and the Y say 9 months+. Anybody try both? Is the flow much faster with the Y?

I just figured if we could skip the 4 and go straight to the Y it would save a little money.

I think pp is right, I think y cut is for cereal... Dd is still on level 2, so don't be so sure you will def need to get to level 4!

Thanks everyone! She is doing really well on the 3s so I'm going to hold off until she shows signs that it's not fast enough. Makes since that the Y is for cereal. However, our pedi told us not to do cereal in the bottle so we get to skip that step. She's a champ at eating off the spoon. Only a few more days and we're on to veggies!
