Cooing

A week or two DD started smiling on purpose, and now she's started "talking" to us.  These are the most adorable noises I've ever heard (a second close would be the sounds she makes when eating).  Sometimes, it almost sounds like she's trying to sing.  I try to talk back to her as if I understand what she says... I'm pretty sure if anyone else could hear me they'd think I've completely lost it.

Re: Cooing

  • OMG I concur!!! I LOVE when my son makes those sounds. I just grab him and kiss his soft cheeks when he does and also talk back to him! I have to admit that I've experienced a bit of baby blues the first few weeks, but any tiny bit of the blues that might have remained melt away when he coos and/or smiles!  I can't wait for the laughs! :)

  • My baby hoots.  I love it.  She's been a chatterbox from early on, but the smiling in response is relatively recent (and DH still isn't convinced).
