This is our third and both times I've delievered in the evening. My midwife tells me that most second time (or more) mommas will go into labor in the evening after all the kids go to sleep. So I'm just curious what others experiences were of non-induced births.
Re: STM (or more)- did you go into labor in the middle of the night?

"Things separate from their stories have no meaning. They are only shapes. Of a certain size and color. A certain weight. When their meaning has become lost to us they no longer have even a name. The story on the other hand can never be lost from its place in the world for it is that place.” ― Cormac McCarthy, The Crossing
With my second, I started labor at 3 am, and he was born at 6 pm the same day. I was really worried about going into labor in the evening and having to stay up all night with contractions, so it worked out perfect!
If we ever have a third, I hope it's the same thing - laboring during the day was really good, I thought.

My BFP Chart
DS1: water broke at 8 AM, born at 3:21 AM the next day
DS2: water broke at 3 AM, born at 10:16 AM that day
Both times, rupture of membranes was the of start of labor.
DD1: water broke at 3 AM, born at 9:25 PM that night
DD2: water broke at midnight, born at 6:13 AM that morning...so the theory works for me!
Ds1-induction starting at 4:30p and had him at 9:30pm
DS2-spontaneous labor awoke at 3:00am with strong contraction and had him at 6:30am
Ds3-spontaneous labor had prodromal labor all morning and strong contractions starting at around 2:00pm (the moment I buckeled them in the car to go stay with Grandma for the weekend) and had him at 9:30pm
I think there is something to that. I think our bodies know when the right time to go into labor. It is always one of the most nerve wracking things about waiting for labor-making sure our other LOs are cared for.

DS: Contractions started at 3AM, born at 1:21AM the next night/morning.
DD: Membranes ruptured at 8PM, while DS was getting ready for bed, no contractions all night and contractions finally began when DS went out with family for lunch, born at 2:14PM.
In both cases I believe having people around or tasks that needed accomplished has stalled my labor.

With DD1, early labor started for me about 2 a.m., but then I didn't go into full-blown labor until about 10 p.m. that night. DD1 arrived at 7:23 p.m. the following night. It was a long day(s).
With DD2, I was awakened at 1 a.m. by contractions. She was born at 2:17 p.m. the same day.

Yes, I my water broke first with both kids (#1 and #2) and it was in the middle of the night.
Are you united with the CCOKCs?
Both my kids labor started around 8 PM. DD was born at noon the next day, DS was born at 4:30 AM
With DS I would contract regularly all night, then stop during the day - that happened for 2 nights before the real deal.
