Home Birth

I just found out that I am pregnant and I would like to avoid a hospital birth at all costs.  Does anyone know of midwives who do home births in south Pittsburgh, the two that I found are no longer accepting patients.

    Have you contacted anyone at the Midwife Center in Pittsburgh?  I am not sure if they do home births, but I am sure they could get you in touch with someone that does.

    Also, I am pretty sure that the owners of Happy Baby Company in Pittsburgh have had a couple of home births.  I am sure they could steer you in the right direction.  Good luck!

    The Midwife Center is lovely, but they don't do homebirth.

     I have a complete list of all the homebirth midwives in the area (and no, Rachel isn't taking anyone right now because of her own pregnancy, and Michele hasn't taken clients for ages).

     Thank you for responding, after not having much luck with home birth midwives I ended up going with the Midwife Center.  I had my orientation yesterday and I am so excited I did so.

    Excellent choice! I go there and I love the MWs, I'm really looking forward to delivering there. I haven't met all of them yet, but Kara so far is my favorite. =)
