Grunting

Is anyone else's baby doing this all night long.  It seems to get worse as the night goes on too.  The grunts get closer together and he does these exaggerated stretches and lifts his legs up like he's in pain.  He is also doing this during the day when I nurse him or is napping.  I keep seeing things that this is normal and called "grunting baby syndrome".

Mine does the exact same thing. It is so bad that I ended up moving her to her own room so that DH and I could get some sleep!

My dd did this too, Also seemed worse at night, she is now 15 weeks( I am a may momma turned march, but stayed on may boards)  and hasn't been doing it for a while, its funny It kept us up at night and then all of a sudden I looked at DH one night and said when did she stop grunting!!?? We called dd our baby goat cause that's what it sounded like!

Adalyn also grunted a lot, and she still does sometimes, but no where near what she used to.  We called her our little pug.

I have heard,.they will grunt and move legs, if it is gas. Now, our DD, will grunt if there is any part of her diaper that is dirty.

Dd used to do this but has grown out of it in the last week or so. But we have swapped one bad habit for another. She is now obsessed with gettin her hands in her mouth. If she wakes even a little at night she is in search of that fist. The chance of her falling back to sleep without eating is zero right now.

My little guy doesn't get any sleep after 2 am because he is up grunting every 5 minutes.

DD was doing this last night and then she passed a lot of gas and stopped for a few hours and then did it again before she woke up.

My DD starts grunting I the early morning and keeps going until she has passed all her gas. Sometimes it takes a few hours. She will sleep through it some days but other times it will keep her awake. She only does this in the morning though, which is a little odd.

Gavin does that usually in the early am.  Most of the time, it works him up to pass gas.  My doc said that it's normal for babies until their abd muscles are stronger and they can control them better.

It got so bad for us last night that I ended up taking him to the doctor this morning.  She diagnosed him with reflux and prescribed Zantac.  I'm hoping this will help comfort him some.

Oh My Goodness...we had some major issues with grunting! I BF during the day and he didnt have any grunting issues and was FF at night. The formula I had originally used made him SOOO gassy and he would wake up around 2 or 3 and grunting profusely for the rest of the night. So we ended up changing his formula and getting a bottle that helps reduce bubbles and it has helped tremendously. He also has what I believe is a touch of reflux so he now sleeps in his bouncy seat to keep him inclined and not choke on all the bubbles and spit up.
