A Serious Question About Nipples

Okay me and my fiance are trying to conceive and I think I may be pregnant but its to early to tell with a hpt. But I was wondering if when anyone when they first where pregnant if their nipples where very erect, and sore, and if the white spots in them got very defined? Is that normal? Could that mean I am pregnant? I have three more days till my missed period and I don't want to test to early. Just wanted to know if this was something that happened to any of you. Also not breast feeding. 21 and my nipples never acted like this.

Yes I know that but I am talking about the sore erect nipples, more.

Everyone is different so even if someone DID experience that before they got a BFP doesn't mean you're pregnant, the only way to know for sure is to POAS! Good luck

my nipples got sore, darker and more defined 2 days b4 i got my BFP so maybe i would pee on a stick, get the ones that come in like packs of 3 and you could test for the next 3 mornings, good luck!!!

Thank you so much that's all I wanted to know so I didn't feel like I was just imaging it . Just so I knew I wasn't getting overly excited. I will do so and let you all know

Obviously you're not going to have a yes or no answer to being pregnant until you take a test, but yes, sore/sensitive nips (almost like I just stood outside in freezing cold with a silk shirt on kind of nips) is one of my first signs of pregnancy.  I don't normally get that feeling where it won't go away unless I'm pregnant.  It's actually the thing that led me to take a test this time even though I'm a regular cycle day 15 ovulator and we didn't have sex this month until cycle day 21.  Obviously a surprise. 

But again, wait a few more days and take a test.  I'm a firm believer on not wasting tests until you've missed a period, no matter how bad you "just want to know."

go get First Response, I tested that 6 days before my missed period and got a BFP

FTR, if you are pregnant enough for symptoms, you are pregnant enough for a BFP.

I started having symptoms at DPO8, but I did not get a BFP until DPO12.

I took an HTC an got positive results. The nipples were my first indication, though. Consistently alert, bumpier, no noticeable color difference, and seriously sensitive!

By the way I am not looking for anyone to tell me I am pregnant. I am looking for the answer if is is a possibility of it being an early pregnancy symptom. I don't want to test until the day of or the day after when my period should be. I asked the same question on trying to get pregnant thinking that some of them are trying for their second and got a few rude responses. One woman told me to ask on this board then bad mouthed me when I did. Thank you all for your stories and opinions. I feel no question is stupid and should be treated seriously instead of being treated as it was dumb or unreasonable

Two of my first signs were extreme breast tenderness and nipple tingling. I hope that you get your BFP soon. :-)

I would test with a FRER.  I have had sore breasts both pregnancies, but no nipple changes before a + HPT.  Good luck!

I think it's just frustration at the fact that many women ask if their symptoms could be a sign of pregnancy and we, as internet strangers cannot tell you for sure, but if you're wanting to know ALL the early pregnancy symptoms just google it. But yes, nipple tenderness/sensitivity is one.

I am sure they are frustrated but it also makes me very frustrated. I did google it but then again I don't know how early some of the symptoms are. As for the other board some of their replies where uncalled for such as one telling me to buy these.

My nipples have stayed erect even til now so idk if they will ever be "normal" again. Anyway my best advice is to stop analyzing everything and when you miss your period take a test. Trust me i know you are excited but it is just a hurry up and wait process. Most dr offices won't get you in for another month or more. Take your time. Or you will drive yourself crazy.

Thank you for your advice. I am trying not to over analyze everything. But it seems impossible.

I think your question is honest and fine.  Personally I also dont think there are stupid questions.  Lots of women said that it was an obvious early sign for them.  Also you heard there are lots of other possibilities so listen to those people who gave honest kind advice. Maybe people are sick of questions like this in which case they just shouldnt bother answering.  I agree that asking other people who have been prego rather than checking google is usually a better way to go!  Just want to say Best of Luck and hopefully when you get a BPF you can join a board for your birth month that is kind and supportive!  I've loved getting to know the ladies in my brith month!

My nips/breasts were sore when I had PMS before, so it wasn't really anything new when they hurt pre-BFP. I didn't take that as a symptom until I got my BFP.

I'm a little late in answering, and I don't mean to be a party pooper, but have you recently come off bcp? This happened to me a few months ago, when I first came off BCP pills.My boobs were killing me! And my nipples were so hard you would think I was in Antarctica with a t-shirt on. But alas, no BFP. It could be an early pregnancy symptom and it could also be hormones getting back to normal after BCP. Like I said, I don't mean to be a party pooper, just throwing out another reason. But I wish you luck and hope your sore boobs come with a BFP!
