What Stung My Baby??

I can't PIP from my phone (unless you know a way????) so I'll try to describe it. DS was walking in the yard barefoot and started to cry. There is almost a "whip" mark on his foot - not a dot like a bee sting. The white line starts on the side of his foot and wraps underneath the sole. Right now it's white with pink around the edge. I'm sure the colors will eventually reverse and it will be a red line. No significant swelling. I've never seen a "sting" that was a long line like that. Any ideas???

Maybe he scratched his foot on something sharp?

Are you sure it isn't a scratch?  Was there something that could have scraped his foot?

I'd say a poisonous caterpillar but I'm pretty sure there would be immediate swelling.

eta: nope, nevermind..dr.google says that would leave a traintrack like mark

There was only grass and dirt where his foot was. Yeah, I saw the caterpillar bite on webMD and it's not that complex. Just a straight line. So weird. I called the pedi. Hopefully he has some insight.

I thought scratch or burn. Sorry I am of no help. I can't think of anything that would sting like that outside of a caterpillar.

I think possibly a scratch or a reaction from a plant or something.

The line has pretty much faded and now I can see a pinhole where the original sting must have been. We're doing ice & Tylenol and he doesn't seem phased in the least. Thanks for all the help, ladies!!
