Too Many Clothes??

I think I have a shopping problem....

I was organizing Joshua's closet this morning and realized he has 6 smocked jon-jons/shortalls in size 18 month (his current size) plus about 4 more what I would call dressy outfits and a ton of other summer outfits.

For next winter I alreay have 4 or 5 new outfits plus 5 or 6 new shirts plus a tub of hand-me-downs.

I caught myself eyeing clothes for the size I think he will be next summer (I was always right on with Justin and seem to be doing good with Joshua once we got past about 6 months).  I walked through a few stores that were already starting summer mark-downs.

My husband would have to get a 2nd & 3rd job to support my habbit if we'd had a girl.

  • I feel like A never has enough clothes. She is still growing out of things at a rapid pace, so I am on a constant lookout for deals. It's been even worse since we found out N was a girl because I know whatever I buy for A will get used again and I use that as an excuse to justify buying more things. If it has a giraffe on it, I MUST own it.

I have a similar problem. I can't even think about how much worse it would be if I had a girl. Geez, I'd be broke.

  • My biggest problem is shoes. I love buying shoes and I don't seem to care if they may not be seasonably appropriate when she will be able to wear them. I have three boxes of shoes (large diaper boxes) and when I go shopping I want to buy more!

DH would buy every outfit at Target if I didn't rein him in. I have to be strong since he's such a shopaholic...but sometimes those little girl clothes are just too cute...

  • DD has way too many clothes too. I have slowed on the shopping but I still buy her dresses every few weeks lol. They go on sale at macys for 5 bucks and I just cannot say no. My Mom (and a few of my friends) always  buys her cute stuff too so it adds up. 2 of my friends just found out they are having girls so I have been shopping for them! lol
  • I've actually been pretty good about shopping this summer. What I'm noticing is that a lot of his stuff gets ruined after the first few wears and that is frustrating to me. He has about 4 white t-shirts with the little pockets cause I know I can only get about 2 wears out of it and I love a crisp white t-shirt. I wish he would wear a bib when eating messy stuff.

Or maybe I should change his outfit for meals...but that's annoying!

However, for things I know won't get worn a ton I don't mind paying a lot for knowing I should be able to have #2 wear it again.
